Follow the five easy steps to become a customer at The Peoples Bank Co.

  • Step 1: Open a Peoples Bank Account.

    Visit one of our 7 convenient locations and speak to a Customer Service Representative. Our CSR will assist you in determining which one of our accounts would benefit you the most. To make the process faster, please complete the Personal Information Sheet and bring to the bank.

  • Step 2: Stop using your previous checking account.

    This allows time for outstanding checks to clear and for your automatic deposits and payments to be successfully redirected to your new account.

  • Step 3: Move your Automatic Direct Deposits.

    Make a list of your automatic direct deposits and notify them of the new routing number and your new account number. Use the Automatic Direct Deposit Change Request form to make this process easier. For Social Security Deposits, you will need to contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213.

  • Step 4: Transfer any Automatic Payments/Deductions.

    Make a list of your automatic payments and notify them of the new routing number and your new account number. Use the Automatic Withdrawals/ Direct Deductions Change Request form to make this process easier.

  • Step 5: Close your Previous Account

    Once you see that your Automatic Deposits and Payments have been successfully directed to your new account, close your previous account. Use the Close My Account form to make this process easier. Destroy your ATM and or Debit Cards and any unused checks and deposit slips.
